Special Events Planned for Sept. 11 Soccer Match

AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State soccer team has planned multiple events for its Sept. 11 home match against Loyola-Chicago to remember the tragic events that occurred 10 years ago. The Cyclones will kick off their match against the Ramblers at the ISU Soccer Complex at 1 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to bring Iowa State t-shirts to the match to write messages of gratitude to the men and women of the local police, firefighters and emergency medical services. Fans can write messages before attending the match or at the ISU Soccer Complex. United States flags will then be ironed on all t-shirts and sent to the local police, fire and EMS stations.
Additionally, there will be a joint police and fire honor guard presenting the colors. Each unit will also have representatives as honorary captains at the match.
Admission, as it is for all Iowa State home soccer matches, is free.
