AMES, Iowa - More than 30 teams will compete in the annual Iowa State Open Friday and Saturday in the Lied Recreation Center as the Cyclone track and field team hosts its first meet of 2012. The women's weight throw and the non-seeded women's 5,000-meter run will kick off Friday's events and are scheduled for a 3 p.m. CST start time. Saturday, events are scheduled to resume at 10 a.m. with the women's shot put and the non-seeded women's 3,000-meter run.
Teams scheduled to compete in what is typically the largest of the five meets (in number of teams represented) hosted by Iowa State include Buena Vista, Minnesota State-Mankato, Northwestern College, NIACC, Grand View, Iowa Western, Dakota Wesleyan, Graceland, Kansas City Community College, Creighton, Edgewood College, William Penn, Morningside, Oklahoma Baptist, Briar Cliff, Ottawa, Dakota State, Simpson College, Allen College, Rockford College, Maryville, Kansas Wesleyan, Southwest Baptist, Tulsa, Truman State, Johnson County Community College, Augustana, Missouri S&T, St. Cloud State, Iowa Central, Drake and St. Norbert College.
