The AutoZone Liberty Bowl Hosted its first official team event Thursday night with its welcome party, highlighted by a rib-eating contest. Offensive lineman Ethan Tuftee set a new AutoZone Liberty Bowl record by eating 20 ribs in 22 minutes and 45 seconds. Tuftee won a Fender Stratocaster guitar courtesy of the bowl.
Players also competed with its bowl opponent, Tulsa, in a XBox Tournament (NCAA football, won by Henry Simon) and a karaoke contest. Click the embedded media player below to see footage of the rib-eating contest.

Thursday, Dec. 27: Day Two Practice Report/St. Jude Hospital Visit and Cyclones.tv Peabody Ducks All-Access
Day two was a busy day in Memphis as the team conducted its second practice of bowl preparation. Wednesday, Dec. 26: Travel Party Arrives In Memphis/Day One Practice Report

AutoZone Liberty Bowl Parade on Beale Street, 3 p.m.
Free and open to the public. Featuring the Iowa State Varsity Marching Band and spirit squad. Former Iowa State head coach Johnny Majors will be the parade's grand marshal.
Bash on Beale Street Pep Rally, 5 p.m.
Free and open to the public. After the parade, head on over to Handy Park on Beale Street, where both the ISU and Tulsa bands and spirit squads will participate in the pep rally -- including an epic "Battle of the Bands." Speakers will include Liberty Bowl representatives, both schools' athletics directors, and Head Coach Paul Rhoads. The Cyclone Football team will also be in attendance.
Cyclones Take Beale by Storm, 5:30 p.m. - ? Alfred's: Come for a buffet meal served from 5:30-8 p.m. First come, first served. Pay at the door. Cost is $20 and includes food, wristband for re-entry, and soft beverage. Alcohol available for purchase on your own. Menu to include: Spicy Spinach and Artichoke Dip with homemade chips, cup of Chicken and Sausage Gumbo, slow smoked Pulled BBQ Pork Sandwich, homemade Cole Slaw and Baked Beans
Blues City Caf?: Down South Delta Cookin' where ISU flags will be flying. Purchase dinner and drinks on your own, then D.Y.M.O (dance your meal off) in the live music room.
Silky O'Sullivan's: Cyclone Party Central for entertainment. Purchase dinner and drinks on your own. Drink specials will include “the Cyclone” and “the Iowa State Sunrise.” Enjoy live entertainment by the Dueling Pianos as well as the live goat on the patio.

Parking/Tailgating Lots Open at 8 a.m. at the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. The cost for general parking is $10 and is first come, first serve basis, CASH only. Game Kickoff, 2:30 p.m. - Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium - Iowa State football players and coaches from the Cyclone's 1972 AutoZone Liberty Bowl team will be recognized during the game.

Monday, Dec. 17: Pep Rally Information
Head coach Paul Rhoads and the Iowa State Athletics Department would like to invite you to be part of the AutoZone Liberty Bowl Parade and Pep Rally on Sunday, December 30th. The Beale Street parade begins at 3 p.m., followed by the pep rally at 5 p.m. in nearby Handy Park.
Both the parade and pep rally are official events of the AutoZone Liberty Bowl and will include the marching bands, spirit squads, athletics directors and head coaches from both Iowa State and Tulsa. The Cyclone football team also plans to attend the pep rally.
Please note the following:
1. Wear “cardinal” to all the events and the game to help showcase our tremendous school pride throughout bowl week.
2. Be respectful to Tulsa's representatives in the parade and at the pep rally, especially during their time on the stage at the rally. Let's treat Tulsa in the same hospitable way we would expect our representatives to be welcomed.
3. Following the pep rally, help the “Cyclones take Beale Street by Storm” by attending the Alumni Association's “Cyclone Party Central at Silky O'Sullivan's” located directly across the street from the pep rally.

Tuesday, Dec. 11: AutoZone Liberty Bowl Pre-Game Event | Dec. 31 From 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
The Iowa State Athletics Department appreciates you being “all in” with your recent purchase of AutoZone Liberty Bowl tickets and we wanted to make you aware of a special pre-game function you won't want to miss.
Join fans of both schools at a one-of-a-kind pre-game bash sponsored by the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. The event runs from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and will feature live music, unlimited food / beverage, and performances by the marching bands and spirit squads (please note this will serve as Iowa State's pre-game event at the stadium).
Tickets to this exclusive event are on sale now for $35 each (child or adult) and include all-you-can-eat BBQ from Pig-n-Whistle (sandwiches, lemon pepper chicken, BBQ beans, coleslaw and pudding) and unlimited drinks (beer, mixed drinks, soda, etc.).
Guarantee your admittance by purchasing tickets right away. Click here to purchase. There is a limited number of tickets and they are expected to go fast. Sale of pre-game event tickets ends Friday, Dec. 14, unless supplies run out before then.
Buffet tickets will be sent with your Liberty Bowl tickets via UPS. If you designated your tickets for pick at will call, information will be sent at a later date. ISU students who purchase buffet tickets will receive an email with student ticket/buffet ticket pick up instructions shortly.

- By phone through the Iowa State Athletics Ticket Office (toll-free at 1-888-478-2925 or locally at 515-294-1816); or
- In person at the Iowa State Athletics Ticket Office, 1800 S. Fourth Street, Ames. Ticket Office hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Monday (Dec. 3) and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. beginning Tuesday (Dec. 4).
Seat locations for bowl tickets will not be determined at the time of purchase as they will be allocated based upon Cyclone Club membership level and priority within that level. The deadline to place bowl ticket orders and ensure priority seating based upon your membership level is Friday, Dec. 7 at noon.
Priority seating limits will be applied at the following tickets levels per account: Directors Level (12 tickets), Victory Level (10 tickets), Captains Level (8 tickets), Gold Level (6 tickets) and Cardinal, States and Century Levels (4 tickets). Any additional tickets ordered by Cyclone Club members above their respective priority seating limit will be allocated in the best available locations.
NON-DONORS and GENERAL PUBLIC
Season ticketholders who are not Cyclone Club members and the general public can also purchase their bowl tickets online, via phone or in-person at the athletics ticket office. Seat locations for those tickets will be determined after all Cyclone Club priority orders are filled. Click here to order tickets online.
ADDITIONAL TICKET INFORMATION
All bowl tickets will be sent via UPS and should be delivered by Friday, Dec. 21. Tickets cannot be sent to a P.O. Box, so a street address is required when placing orders. If fans prefer picking up tickets at the bowl site, select the "Will Call" option when ordering. The bowl's "Will Call" location will be announced later.
All tickets are based on availability. Placing an order does not guarantee receipt of tickets, but fans will be notified by Friday, Dec. 14 if orders cannot be filled.
Fans, that cannot attend the game but wish to support the bowl trip, can purchase tickets and they will be donated to the Veteran Tickets Foundation in the bowl city.
