AMES, Iowa- The Iowa State soccer team returns to the Cyclone Sports Complex for their final home game of the season Friday at 7 p.m. against Oklahoma State.
Friday's game will be senior night, and each of Iowa State's seniors will be honored before the start of the game.
Last time out
Iowa State fell 1-0 to the TCU Horned Frogs last game in Fort Worth, Texas. Iowa State was able to fire 22 shots at the Horned Frogs, but were unable to find the back of the net. Multiple times a Cyclone shot hit the cross bar leaving Iowa State without anything to show for their offensive work. Iowa State was led by senior Jessie Reyes, who fired five total shots during the contest.
Scouting the Cowgirls
Oklahoma State (7-4-6, 2-2-3) is led by freshman Courtney Dike, who is tied for second in the conference for goals scored with 11. In conference games alone Oklahoma State is tied for fifth in the Big 12 in goals and points scored. All of the Cowgirls' goals scored this season have come from either a freshman or sophomore.
What to watch for
Friday night's game will play a large part in seeding for the Big 12 tournament. Both the Cyclones and Cowgirls have clinched a spot in the tournament and will look to better their seeding. Throughout conference play both teams have put up similar statistics. The key matchup in this game will be how the Cyclones look to slow down Dikes' offensive attack. Dike has scored almost half of the Cowgirls goals this season.
