AMES, Iowa- Iowa State senior midfielder Emily Goldstein was named First-Team All-Big 12 by College Sports Madness Wednesday. Goldstein was also named Second-Team All-Big 12 by the conference on Monday.
Goldstein has put together one of the most memorable seasons in Cyclone soccer history leading her team back to the Big 12 tournament for the first time since 2007. On Oct. 13 against the Oklahoma Sooners Goldstein became just the eighth Cyclone to ever record a hat trick in a game. Her three goals scored led the Cyclones to a 4-1 victory over the Sooners.
In Iowa State's next game against the Baylor Bears Goldstein came up clutch for the Cyclones scoring a golden goal with 23 seconds remaining in the first overtime period. Iowa State won the game 1-0 and clinched a spot in the Big 12 tournament.
Goldstein and company take on the Baylor Bears today at 11:30 a.m. in Kansas City at the Big 12 soccer tournament.
