FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Iowa State's Christina Hillman earned All-America honors with a second-place finish in the women's shot put Saturday at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Tyson Center. Hillman's throw of 58-0 ½ broke the school mark of 57-9 she set by finishing third at the USA Championships earlier this month. Tia Brooks of Oklahoma won the NCAA shot put title with a throw of 63-0 ¾.
Iowa State's Betsy Saina earned All-America honors for the ninth time in her career with a fourth-place finish in the 3,000-meter run. Abbey D'Agastino of Dartmouth, who won the 5,000-meter run Friday, won the 3,000-meter run in 9:01.88. Saina finished in 9:07.34.
Hillman has continually produced personal bests throughout the season. Cyclone Danielle Frere placed 14th with a throw of 52-10 ¾.
Ejiro Okoro earned All-America honors with a seventh-place finish in the 800-meter run. Okoro's time was a personal best 2:05.44. Natoya Goule of LSU won the race in 2:02.00
