MANHATTAN, Kansas - The Iowa State tennis team (8-13, 1-7 Big 12) fell to No. 52 Kansas State (8-10, 2-6 Big 12), 7-0, Friday afternoon.
Iowa State's lone win in the match came from the duo of Simona Cacciuttolo and Meghan Cassens at No. 2 doubles. Cacciuttolo and Cassens defeated Kubickova and St. Hill of Kansas State, 8-6.
Emma Waites played in a competitive match at No. 6 singles but was unable to win the point for the Cyclones. The match went three sets with Waites eventually falling to Ana Gomez Aleman, 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (5).
Iowa State will be back in action Sunday against Kansas. Play is set to begin at 12 p.m.
