AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State tennis team had four student-athletes earn Academic All-Big 12 honors from the league, including three on the first team. The four honorees tied for the second-most in the conference.
Sophomore Meghan Cassens (business) and seniors Jenna Langhorst (industrial engineering) and Ellie Nixon (accounting) all earned first-team honors, which are given to student-athletes with at least a 3.20 grade point average.
Junior Emma Waites (communication studies) earned second-team accolades.
Langhorst, a Palatine, Ill. native, was recognized for the second time in her career after earning second-team honors as a junior. Cassens, Nixon and Waites were each honored for the first time.
A total of 53 Big 12 student-athletes were honored by the league.
