AUSTIN, Texas – Iowa State distance runner Betsy Saina qualified for the NCAA Championship in the 5,000 meters Saturday and Cyclone Christina Hillman qualified in the shot put at the NCAA West Regional in Myers Stadium. The NCAA Championships are June 5-8 in Eugene, Ore.
Saina was the fifth-fastest qualifier overall, finishing third in the second heat in 16:07.18. Hillman was the 11th qualifier out of the shot put competition, with a best throw of 51-11.
