AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State soccer team had 12 players earn Academic All-Big 12 honors the league announced Tuesday. Junior Madi Ott and sophomore Stella Maris Strohman were two of the four Big 12 student-athletes that sported a 4.00 grade point average.
Iowa State placed eight student-athletes on the Academic All-Big 12 First Team with redshirt senior Lindsay Frank, sophomore Lindsey Hendon, sophomore Kaley Nieters, junior Madi Ott, junior Lauren Roeling, junior Adalie Schmidt, sophomore Stella Maris Strohman and junior Koree Willer.
Senior Haley Albert, junior Kourtney Camy, junior Brianna Johnson and redshirt junior Mia McAleer earned second-team Academic All-Conference honors.
Albert, Frank and McAleer have been honored as Academic All-Big 12 performers on three occasions while Ott, Roeling and Willer are two-time recipients.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student- athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
