AMES, Iowa- Caitlin Brown tied the school record and her career high on beam for the second time this season at Friday night's meet against Temple. The meet took place at Hilton Coliseum and was Iowa State's Senior Night.
Brown is the Cyclones only senior and competed excellently at the meet, tying her career high on the all-around. Iowa State won the meet with a score of 195.300, Temple coming in second with 189.750.
Vault
Courtney Middelkoop competed on vault for the first time in her Iowa State career and took first place at the meet with a 9.800. Caitlin Brown and Haylee Young both put up 9.775's and Kelsey Paz and Alex Marasco both brought in 9.725's to bring the team score to 48.800.
Bars
Briana Ledesma recorded a career high 9.875 to lead the Cyclones on the uneven bars. Hilary Green earned a 9.825 and Caitlin Brown received a 9.800. The overall team score for the event was 48.975.
Beam
Caitlin Brown tied the school record and her personal high for the second time this season with a 9.950 on beam. She is one of just seven ISU gymnasts to score a 9.950 on the event, and is the fourth to do it at least twice. Alex Marasco and Haylee Young also contributed with scores of 9.825 and 9.800, respectively. The team earned a beam score of 48.375.
Floor
Iowa State earned a team score of 49.150, its highest of the season, led by freshman Haylee Young. Young tied her career high on floor with a 9.900 at the meet. Caitlin Brown also performed well on the event earning a score of 9.875 and Kelsey Paz received a 9.825.
All-Around
Caitlin Brown won the meet and tied her career high with an all-around score of 39.400. Haylee Young also competed all-around and earned a score of 39.225.
Coming Up
The Cyclones will be head to Norman, Oklahoma to compete in the Big 12 Championships next Saturday afternoon. The meet will begin at 4 p.m. and will be against West Virginia and Oklahoma.
