Turning Point of the Game
After 90 minutes of scoreless action, the game went into overtime and both teams turned up the attack. Iowa State took four shots in the two overtime periods and TCU fired five of their own. The story of this game was the defense and goalkeeper play of both squads to keep this back-and-forth contest without a goal.Â

Cyclone Game Ball Goes to...
Lindsey Hendon. The entire team is worthy of this honor after battling for the full 110 minutes of this game, but Hendon was once again an impenetrable wall in frame. She tallied her school-record tying seventh shutout of the season with her eight save performance tonight. Hendon made multiple highlight-worthy saves to keep the Horned Frogs off the board, but she wouldn't have been in position to do so if it wasn't for the near perfect performance by the Cyclone backline. Head coach Tony Minatta kept the Iowa State defensive four of Sasha Stinson, Jordan Enga, Madi Ott and Brianna Johnson in for the full 110 minutes.Â
Coach Said It
"At halftime I just said we need to take care of the ball and give us more opportunities to go forward," head coach Tony Minatta said. "We got the ball inside the offensive third, but we played in front of them a little too much and I think we could have attacked the end line a little more. Our 22 shots is the most in a Big 12 game to date, but it's just unfortunate that we couldn't get one to go in."
Game Notes
*Junior goalkeeper Lindsey Hendon tied the school record with her seventh shutout of the season.
*This was the first tie under third-year head coach Tony Minatta.
