Cade Named Big 12 Freshman Of The Week

IRVING, Texas – Iowa State women's soccer freshman Hannah Cade claimed her first career Big 12 Freshman of the Week honor, the league announced Tuesday. Cade scored her second-career goal against Oklahoma State, which proved to be the game-winner for the Cyclones.
Cade, who hails from Lakeville, Minnesota, scored from 20 yards out off a pass from redshirt freshman Kasey Opfer. Her stellar shot was perfectly placed as it sailed just over the OSU keeper and slightly under the crossbar. The goal would give the Cyclones their first conference win since 2014 and the first Big 12 goal by a freshman since 2011.
Iowa State returns to the field on Friday, when it takes on Oklahoma at 7 p.m. CT at the Cyclone Sports Complex.
