The Cyclones' return to traveling in the middle of this stretch of four away matches in 15 days. ISU had its lone home match of the stretch on Saturday against then-No. 3 Texas, falling to the now-No. 2 Longhorns in four sets. The ISU effort was led by Hali Hillegas, who recorded her fourth career 30-dig match with 31 digs, and had a career-best six service aces. The Cyclone serve has improved dramatically in the past month after finding itself ranked 334th in the nation in aces after the match at Texas on Oct. 14. In the last eight matches, Iowa State is averaging 1.77 aces per set and have made their way to third in the Big 12 in serving.
Despite its 7-18 overall record, Oklahoma has proven a tough out in Big 12 play, sitting fifth in the conference standings with a 4-8 league record. The Sooners are led by pin hitters Alyssa Enneking and Madison Drescher. Meanwhile, ex-Cyclone Rachel Manriquez is back at the libero spot for the Sooners. Iowa State will be looking for its ninth-straight win in the series on Wednesday. ISU's current run of eight-straight wins over the Sooners is the longest win streak by either team in the 80-match history of the series.
