Seven Cyclones Earn Big 12 Academic Achievement Award

IRVING, Texas – Seven Iowa State student-athletes have been awarded the 2017 Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award, the Big 12 Conference's highest academic honor.
The award is in its seventh year and is in memory of Lage, who served as the Oklahoma State faculty athletics representative with the NCAA and the Big Eight/Big 12 Conference from 1983-2007.
To be eligible, student-athletes must have lettered at least once in their career, participated in 100 hours of earned credit and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.80.
The Cyclones to earn the prestigious award are: M.J Kamin (women's golf), Kelsey Paz (gymnastics), Madison Ott (soccer), Hope Scheffert (softball), Madeline Rastall (swimming & diving), Bethanie Brown (women's cross country/track & field) and Alexis Conaway (volleyball).
All recipients of the Lage Award will receive public recognition at the Phillips 66 Big 12 Men's Basketball Championships.
