Cyclones Fall to Jayhawks, 4-0

LAWERENCE, Kan. - The Iowa State tennis team (15-4, 1-2 Big 12) fell to Kansas (11-4, 3-1 Big 12), 4-0, Sunday at the Jayhawk Tennis Center.

The Jayhawks started off fast by grabbing the doubles point with wins from their No. 2 and 3 double pairs . They used that momentum to carry them into singles play to give the Cyclones their first back-to-back losses this season.

Once again, Samantha Budai was the lone Cyclone to grab a win in a set against their opponent. #60 Anastastia Rychagova and Budai were in a battle before the Jayhawks were able to clinch the victory with three singles victories.

The Cyclones will look to get back on track in conference play next weekend when they face off against Baylor and Texas at home. They will face off against the Bears on Friday at 3 p.m. and the Longhorns on Sunday at 2 p.m. Iowa State will also have a dual against Central College at home after the Longhorns at 2 p.m.
