IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Iowa State soccer team (1-2, 0-0 Big 12) fell in a 1-0 overtime heartbreaker to Iowa in the annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk game on Friday night. The teams were locked in a 0-0 draw after 90 minutes of play, but the Hawkeyes struck with a game-winner by Olivia Fiegel with less than three minutes to play in the first overtime session.

Turning Point of the Game
The Hawkeyes made the deciding play of the game at the 97:08 mark. A stolen pass in the Iowa State back line resulted in a one-on-one situation between Fiegel and ISU's freshman goalkeeper Dayja Schwichtenberg, who tallied five saves in an excellent outing. Fiegel's goal gave Iowa the win, as the Cyclones fell to 1-2 on the season.

Coach Said It
"It was tough," Minatta said. "We left it all on the field tonight and I have nothing but respect for my players and the effort that they put in. To go out on a golden goal in an overtime situation is tough. We have to take the positives away from this game and move forward because we had some quality play on that field and really worked hard. I thought Carly Langhurst stepped up and played incredibly well at center back. We put a lot of pressure on the goal and it's just a matter of us needing to sort out how we're going to start scoring on some of these chances we create."
