The Cyclones were unable to convert a 2-0 lead over No. 11 Kansas into a win, and have a quick turnaround to deal with at the hands of Texas Tech. The Red Raiders showed their prowess at home on Wednesday, knocking off a high-flying West Virginia squad in four sets. TTU is strong on the pins via sophomore outside hitters Emily Hill, and Chandler Atwood, while junior setter Missy Owens is an aggressive leader of the offense.
While ISU has been victorious over Texas Tech 21-straight times, there have been some close calls in Lubbock recently. Last season, the two teams went to five sets before ISU prevailed, the Cyclones won in four sets in 2015 and ISU also took the infamous 2014 five-setter that began in Lubbock, but finished in Ames after Iowa State won a rules protest to have the fifth set replayed.
