No. 22 Kansas saw its nine-match win streak come to an end on Wednesday night when they fell in four sets at Kansas State in the Sunflower Showdown, KU's first Big 12 loss of the season. The Jayhawk attack is led by junior outside hitter Jada Burse, who has 3.34 kills per set. Kansas is the Big 12's top blocking team, averaging 3.05 blocks per set. Leading the way there are middle blockers freshman Rachel Langs (1.50 blocks per set) and junior Zoe Hill (1.39 per set).
The Cyclones and Jayhawks will be meeting for the 93rd time on Saturday, ISU leading the all-time series 48-43-1. Kansas is Iowa State's most frequent opponent in program history. Both teams defended their home floors in last year's meetings, KU coming from 0-2 down to beat ISU in five in Lawrence and Iowa State taking down then-No. 11 Kansas in four sets at Hilton Coliseum. The Cyclones will be seeking their first win in Lawrence since 2013.
