WORTH NOTING
1. Iowa State continues to lead the Big 12 in free throw shooting despite a 19-for-23 performance at Iowa...the Cyclones are shooting 72.6 percent, which would be among the top-10 single-season marks in school history...ISU is the only Big 12 team shooting better than 70 percent.
2. ISU is the only school to have three players ranked among the top-15 in the Big 12 in scoring...the Cyclones are paced by Marial Shayok's 19.3 points, which ranks second in the Big 12...Shayok and Michael Jacobson have both scored in double figures in all nine games.
3. The Cyclones are 58-13 in their last 71 home games...ISU is 5-0 at home this season.
4. Terrence Lewis is averaging 11.0 points and shooting 55.6 percent from the field the last four games.
5. Nick Weiler-Babb and Tyrese Haliburton rank first and second in the Big 12 in assist-to-turnover ratio at 4.3 and 3.6, respectively...Weiler-Babb has 15 assists and one turnover the last four games, while Haliburton has 13 dimes and two turnovers the last three games.
LAST TIME OUT: CYCLONES FALL AT IOWA
• Iowa State allowed Iowa to shoot 57.4 percent and got outrebounded 44-24 in a 98-84 loss Thursday night in Iowa City...the Cyclones trailed by seven at the half but cut the lead down to two by scoring the first five points of the second half...from that point though, the Hawkeyes were able to take control and get the win.
• ISU was led by Horton-Tucker's 21 points, while Shayok (19), Jacobson (12) and Haliburton (10) were also in double figures...the Cyclones, the Big 12's best free-throw shooting team, made just 18-of-29 at the line...Iowa hit 9-of-18 threes and 19-of-23 at the line.
• Iowa State forced 18 turnovers, turning them into 24 points.
IOWA STATE-SOUTHERN SERIES NOTES• Iowa State and Southern will meet for the fourth time...ISU holds a 3-0 edge, with all games being played at Hilton Coliseum...the teams first met in 2000, with the most recent meeting coming in 2014...ISU won that meeting 88-78 with Georges Niang and Bryce Dejean-Jones leading the Cyclones with 18 points each.
• Michael Jacobson is the only Cyclone on the roster that has faced Southern in his career...Jacobson had four points and five rebounds against the Jaguars as a sophomore.
• This is Steve Prohm's first meeting against Southern...he is 5-0 coaching against Southern head coach Sean Woods, who was previously at Morehead State...all of those meetings came when Prohm was at Murray State.
