Game #29Â - Oklahoma State

#CycloneNotes
• The shorthanded Cyclones fell to West Virginia, 85-70, Saturday evening in Morgantown...ISU started three freshman (Lindell Wigginton, Cameron Lard and Terrence Lewis) in a game for the first time since the 2010-11 season.
• Iowa State will be without the services of starters Nick Weiler-Babb and Solomon Young for the third consecutive game...Weiler-Babb has missed six games this season...the pair has accounted for 21.1 percent of ISU's points, 30.1 percent of rebounds and both played more than 27 minutes per game before being sat for at least the remainder of the regular season.
• Iowa State boasts one of the top freshman duos in the nation in Wigginton and Lard...the pair makes ISU one of just two teams nationally, the other being Duke, to have two freshmen averaging at least 15 points per game in conference action...Wigginton is averaging 17.4 points and Lard 15.3 points against Big 12 foes, ranking them both among the top-10 in scoring in conference games only...with 798 total points combined, they are already the second-highest scoring freshman duo in school history.
• Wigginton, a three-time Big 12 Newcomer of the Week honoree, is second among Big 12 freshmen in scoring average (16.4), above the ISU freshman scoring average record held by Curtis Stinson (16.2)...his 10 20-point games and 62 3-pointers made are an ISU rookie record....he needs to average 11 points over the final two conference games to become the first Cyclone rookie and only the eighth Big 12 rookie to score 300 points in league games.
• Lard, a redshirt freshman, has perhaps been ISU's most consistent player in Big 12 play...he is averaging 15.3 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.6 blocks in Big 12 games, while scoring in double figures in 14 of 16...Lard has posted double-doubles eight times overall, which is the third most by a freshman in school history...he is one of three freshman nationally and one of just 10 players overall averaging 13-8-2...he has already set the ISU freshman record with 55 blocks...he is 10th nationally shooting 63 percent from the field, which would be second all-time by a freshman in the Big 12.
•  Jackson is expected to return to the Cyclone lineup Tuesday...he is second on the team averaging 15.4 points and leads the Big 12 shooting 90.5 percent at the line...he has made 131 career 3-pointers, the 11th-most in school history.
•  Zoran Talley Jr. has been in the Cyclone starting lineup the previous eight games and is averaging 9.8 points in that time...he has scored in double figures in four of his starts, including 15 points against Kansas...last weekend against WVU, he dished out a career-high nine assists to go with nine points...Talley Jr. has made 5-of-10 threes as a starter...he missed seven games in the middle of the season with a foot injury.
•  ISU has had a rash of injuries this season, with five of 10 eligible players missing a total of 32 games entering Saturday's tilt...ISU has played just 10 of 28 games with all players available.Â

• In ISU's four Big 12 wins it is shooting 49 percent from field, 40.5 percent on threes and averaging 81.5 points...defensively opponents are shooting just 38.7 percent from field, 25.8 percent on threes and averaging 68.5 points in those games.
