Game #23Â - Texas Tech
• Iowa State opens a three-game stretch of ranked opponents Wednesday night on the road at Texas Tech...the Cyclones are looking for their first road win of the season at a place where they've had some recent success, having split the last four meetings in  Lubbock.
• Overall, ISU is in a stretch of playing seven of nine games against teams ranked at tip-off with the two non-ranked foes being on the road.

• Iowa State fell to Baylor, 81-67, last weekend in Waco in the first of two straight road games...the Cyclones led at the half but were unable to fend off the Bears, falling for just the second time this season when leading at the break...Baylor used a 15-0 run in just over two minutes in second half.
• Under Steve Prohm, ISU has defeated a top-25 team on the road in each of his first two seasons...he owns two of ISU's 13 all-time road wins against the top-25...he has coached the Cyclones to nine top-25 wins, including five of ISU's 39 against the top-10.
• Donovan Jackson is second on the team averaging 15.8 points...he has nine 20-point games this season, eight of which have seen him score at least 24 points...among Big 12 players, only OU's Trae Young has more games with at least 24 points and since 2010-11 among ISU players, only Georges Niang (15-16) had more games with 24 points in a season (12)...Jackson is 48-of-51 from the free-throw line, topping the Big 12 at 94.1 percent...he's among the nation's top-25 this season in 3-pointers made (74) and with 118 made in his career he ranks 15th all-time at ISU.
• Lindell Wigginton, a two-time Big 12 Newcomer of the Week honoree, is second among Big 12 freshmen in scoring average (16.0)...he has matched the ISU freshman record with eight 20-point games (Curtis Stinson, Marcus Fizer)...his 50 three-pointers made are second-most on ISU's freshman chart, just 11 behind Jake Sullivan's record.
• Redshirt freshman Cameron Lard is averaging 14.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.1 blocks in eight career starts...he has been in double figures in 12 of the last 14 games...in the first game against Tech he posted 18 points, six rebounds and three blocks...for the season, Lard is averaging 12.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.2 blocks, making him one of three freshman nationally and one of just 11 players overall averaging 12-7-2...in the last five years, only five other freshman have reached those marks...he has posted six double-doubles, which ties Fizer for the third most by a freshman in school history...he has already set the ISU freshman record with 44 blocks...he is 15th nationally shooting 62.8 percent from the field.
•  ISU will be without Nick Weiler-Babb (left knee tendinitis), who is one of college basketball's most well-rounded players, for a second game...a stat-sheet stuffer, Weiler-Babb is the only player nationally averaging at least 11 points to go along with seven rebounds and seven assists...he has seven double-doubles this season...Weiler-Babb ranks 10th nationally averaging 7.0 assists per game and is fourth in the Big 12 with a 2.6 a/to ratio, posting six double-digit assist games...he will will be re-evaluated weekly.
•  Zoran Talley Jr. is again expected to start in Weiler-Babb's place, making his third start as a Cyclone...Talley, who missed seven games earlier this season with a stress fracture in his foot, scored 12 points at Baylor, his most as a Cyclone...in the last six games he is averaging 8.3 points.
• In conference play, ISU and Duke are the only teams in the nation's top six leagues to have two rookies averaging 14 ppg.

• Iowa State has sold out 35 of the last 47 games at Hilton Coliseum...ISU is 34-9 at Hilton Coliseum under Prohm.

Iowa State-Texas Tech Series Notes
• Iowa State and Texas Tech are meeting for the 33rd time...the Cyclones hold a 19-13 edge in the series, but Tech leads 9-5 in games played in Lubbock...the Cyclones beat TTU in overtime last season in Lubbock to earn a season sweep.
• ISU is 2-1 when playing a ranked Texas Tech team, having beat the Red Raiders earlier this season when they were ranked No. 8...the Cyclones claimed a 70-52 win against the Red Raiders at Hilton Coliseum, the largest margin of victory for an ISU team over a top-10 team in the AP poll.
• In that game, five Cyclones reached double figures led by Lard's 18 points...Talley Jr. had 11 points off the bench...ISU held TTU to just 33.9 percent shooting.
• Steve Prohm is 4-1 against Texas Tech and he owns a 4-0 record against Chris Beard...ISU and Prohm defeated Beard's Little Rock team to advance to the Sweet 16 of the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
• ISU is 372-560 against teams currently in the Big 12 Conference.
Last Time Out: Baylor Uses Second Half Run To Down Cyclones
• Iowa State held a two-point lead at the half but Baylor used a 15-0 run early in the second half en route to handing ISU an 81-67 loss Saturday night in Waco...Baylor shot 50 percent from the field and ISU shot just 34.3 percent...the Bears outscored the Cyclones 52-28 in the paint.
• Donovan Jackson led the Cyclones in scoring for the 10th time this season, finishing with 15 points...Lard (14), Wigginton (14) and Zoran Talley Jr. (12) were also in double figures...it was Talley's most points scored as a Cyclone.
