NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma (18-12, 8-10 Big 12) defeated Iowa State (13-17, 4-14), 81-60 in the Big 12 regular-season finale Friday night in Norman, Okla.
Cold shooting and turnovers hampered the Cyclones on the evening. ISU shot a season-low 33.9 percent from the field and turned it over 14 times.
Lindell Wigginton led the Cyclones with 20 points and Jeff Beverly notched his first double-double as a Cyclone with 11 points and a career-high 15 boards.
How It Happened
Oklahoma took a 39-32 lead at the break behind a 7-0 run to close the half. Wigginton was able to rally the troops after the Cyclones fell down early. He hit back-to-back 3-pointers to give the Cyclones an 18-16 advantage midway through the first stanza.
Wigginton had 14 first-half points, including a monster dunk that will go down in Cyclone lore.
Wigginton opened the second half with a pair of hoops to cut the lead to 39-36, but the Sooners countered with a 14-0 run to increase their lead to 53-36 and seize any Cyclone momentum
Players of Note
Lindell Wigginton was in double figure scoring for the 24th time and hit 20 points (20) for the 12th time this season on 8-of-17 shooting from the field. Wigginton has 318 points in conference play, becoming only the eighth rookie in Big 12 history to score 300 or more points in league action.
Jeff Beverly had one of his best all-around games as a Cyclone, recording 11 points and 15 rebounds, his second career double-double and first as a Cyclone. His 15 rebounds is a career-high.

*Lindell Wigginton joined the elite 300-point club for Big 12 rookies, becoming the just the eighth freshman in Big 12 history to score 300 or more points in conference play (318).
*Wigginton drilled two 3-pointers to increase his season total to 67 to tie for 17th on ISU's season list.
*Cameron Lard swatted three shots to give him 60 this year and rank No. 5 on ISU's season list.
*Jeff Beverly grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds.
*OU's Trae Young, who entered the game averaging 28.0 ppg, averaged 18.5 points and shot 12-of-40 from the field and 2-of17 from 3-point range in his two games vs. the Cyclones.
*ISU outrebounded just its fifth Big 12 opponent, 46-39
