Iowa State University Athletics
Congrats To The 2018 Spring Graduates
05.04.2018 | Athletics
AMES, Iowa – Nearly 5,000 Iowa State students will earn their diplomas this weekend, and many of them are Cyclone student-athletes.
Each year, Iowa State Athletics Director Jamie Pollard reiterates to the graduating group they accomplished the most important goal you can achieve at Iowa State: earn your degree.
Iowa State athletes are succeeding in the classroom. Iowa State recorded its highest overall Graduation Success Rate (GSR) score in school history at 84 percent, tying for fourth in the Big 12 Conference. The Cyclones' single year Federal Graduation Rate (FGR) was at 73 percent (based upon the 2010 cohort), the second-highest total in the league.
Four Iowa State sport teams led the Big 12 with 100 percent four-year GSR totals (Women's Basketball, Women's Golf, Gymnastics and Softball). Twelve of the school's fourteen teams improved or maintained their GSR from last year.
Iowa State recently honored its best in the classroom at the annual Scholar-Athlete Banquet. Over 200 Cyclones were rewarded for their dedication in academics.
Congratulation to the 2018 Cyclone graduates!
