MADISON, Wis. – The No. 23 Iowa State women's golf team placed 10th at the NCAA Madison Regional at University Ridge in Madison, Wis.
The top six teams advanced to the NCAA Championships, May 18-23 at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Okla., as the Cyclones ended their 2017-18 campaign. It was ISU's ninth-straight NCAA Regional appearance.
Iowa State carded a 297 this afternoon for a 54-hole 878 total. No. 4 Duke won the team title at 850 and Northwestern was the final team to qualify in sixth place at 864.
Senior and Big 12 champion Celia Barquin Arozamena paced the Cyclones by finishing in a tie for 23rd at 217. Barquin Arozamena was the low scorer of the day for ISU with a 1-under 71. She had three birdies on her card today.
Barquin Arozamena ends her brilliant career as ISU's career leader in stroke average at 73.44. She also tied for second all-time in career top-10 finishes with 16.
Junior Chayanit Wangmahaporn tied for 42nd at 220 (74-69-77) along with freshman Alanna Campbell (73-72-75).
Senior Nattapan Siritrai carded a 75 in the final round to move into a tie for 67th at 228. Siritrai ended her career with a 75.64 stroke average, ranking seventh all-time in school history.
