October Student-Athletes Of The Month Recognized

AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State Office of Student-Athlete Development announced ISU's student-athletes of the month on Friday. The Cyclones being honored for their hard work in the classroom during the month of October are Terrence Lewis (men's basketball), Bobby McMillen III (football), Mikayla Ramos (softball) and Olivia Wee (soccer).
Terrence Lewis – Junior (Men's Basketball)
Hometown:Â Milwaukee, Wis.
Major:Â Communication Studies
Terrence Lewis is beginning his junior campaign as a member of the Iowa State men's basketball team. Lewis, a communication studies major, appeared in 21 games, averaging 4.3 points per contest in 2018-19. Lewis scored a career-high 16 points last season against San Diego State.
Bobby McMillen III – Redshirt Senior (Football)
Hometown:Â Naperville, Ill.
Major:Â Communication Studies
McMillen has emerged during his redshirt senior season, having appeared in all nine contests so far in 2019. McMillen has tallied 15 tackles, including nine solo stops, and one pass breakup on the season. The native of Naperville, Ill., is a linebacker and has been a valuable special teams player for the Cyclones.
Mikayla Ramos – Sophomore (Softball)
Hometown:Â Riverside, Calif.
Major:Â Kinesiology and Health
Michal Ramos had an outstanding freshman campaign for Jamie Pinkerton's Iowa State softball program. The Big 12 All-Freshman Team selection appeared in 43 games, making 21 starts in 2019. Ramos hit a scorching .353 in Big 12 play and tallied 25 hits, 17 RBI and four doubles on the season.
Olivia Wee – Freshman (Soccer)
Hometown:Â Ankeny, Iowa
Major:Â Pre-Diet and Exercise
Olivia Wee just wrapped up a promising freshman campaign with the Cyclone soccer program. Wee, a product of Ankeny, Iowa, appeared in nine games during the 2019 season, totaling 281 minutes of action. Wee, an outside back, showed that she'll be a staple in the Iowa State back line for years to come.
Student-athlete development staff members who oversee each sport submit nominations, and the staff votes on the monthly winner.
