AMES, Iowa – Three members of the No. 15 Iowa State women's cross country team were named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams, the organization announced Thursday afternoon. The Cyclones saw Anne Frisbie, Cailie Logue and Amanda Vestri all honored, while the team received the All-Academic Team award for their cumulative accomplishments in the classroom.
Frisbie capped off her Cyclone cross country career with a bang, earning All-America honors with her 34th place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships to lead the ISU women to their 15th place finish. She picked up All-Big 12 and All-Midwest Region honors for the third-straight season, finishing sixth in each meet. The River Falls, Wisconsin native is a graphic design major.
Logue took home some big prizes in her sophomore cross country season, as she was crowned the Big 12 and NCAA Midwest Region champion, having to upset NCAA track and field champ Sharon Lokedi of Kansas on both occasions. Logue followed that up by taking 53rd at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. The Erie, Kansas native maintains a 4.0 GPA in kinesiology.
Vestri earned All-Big 12 and All-Midwest Region honors for the second-straight season, finishing seventh at the conference championships and 12th at the regional meet, helping lead ISU to a team title in each. The Webster, New York native is a kinesiology major.
