AMES, Iowa – Iowa State men's basketball players Michael Jacobson and Eric Steyer have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches 2018-19 Honors Court.
The NABC's Honors Court recognizes those men's collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:
Jacobson, who earned his degree in finance, played and started all 35 games while averaging 11.1 points and 5.9 rebounds. The Waukee, Iowa native became ISU's seventh men's basketball Academic All-American and the third Big 12 Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He scored in double figures in 19 games and recorded four double-doubles.
Steyer, a walk-on from Ames, Iowa, saw action in 11 games. He was named Academic All-Big 12 First Team and an ISU Scholar-Athlete.
