AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State gymnastics program announced the signing of Hannah Loyim to join the team in the 2022 season on Wednesday. Loyim joins ISU from Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, where she competed for the North Stars Gymnastics Academy.
"Hannah is a great addition to our team not only because she is very talented on all four events but because I believe she possesses a lot of the intangible qualities that we value in our program," Iowa State head coach Jay Ronayne said. "She is very intelligent, goal oriented and passionate about her pursuit of the sport of gymnastics. If she continues to make progress as she has over the past year, I foresee her making an impact as an all-arounder in her freshman year. Of course, she is a very gifted athlete, but I also imagine she will contribute to the culture of our team with her strong character and leadership qualities throughout her career as a Cyclone. I cannot wait to see what she will bring to Cyclone Gymnastics next season."
Loyim, a Level 10 Gymnast, is a two-time Junior Olympic National Championships Qualifier, at the 2019 Region 7 Championships, she finished second on vault, fourth on balance beam and sixth in the all-around. Her all-around best at Level 10 of 38.350 came at the Brestyans Las Vegas Invitational, where she finished in first place on vault, bars and the all-around.
She is not the only member of her family signing with a Division I gymnastics program this year, as her twin sister Emma, will be signing later today with her future program.
