Set One: Iowa State 25 TCU 17
A strong serving run from Kate Georgiades put Iowa State into a 5-0 hole to start the match. The ISU recovery started with Candelaria Herrera, as she single-handedly ran off three-straight with two kills and a block to get within a pair at 7-5. Eleanor Holthaus knotted it with kills at 10s and 11s, and finally moved ahead when MyKayla Myers fired wide at 14-13. After a strong start, the Frog offense cooled down, with the Cyclone block contributing three stuffs to that effort. The ISU offense did its part as well, firing at .423 through the set, with Holthaus leading the way with four kills at .600. Afedo Manyang hit into the net to give ISU the first 25-17.
Set Two: TCU 25 Iowa State 16
The Cyclones got off to another slow start in the set, as TCU ran out to a 6-2 advantage to begin the frame. This time, however, there was no immediate recovery as the Frog offense hit over .500 in the first half of the set to move ahead 13-7. There was no recovery coming for ISU, as TCU built its advantage to as many as nine points. The home side hit .421 as a team in the frame, while the Cyclones were restricted to no blocks on defense and just .182 hitting. TCU evened the match when setter McKenzie Nichols dumped over the ISU block for a kill at 25-16.
Set Three: TCU 25 Iowa State 23
Iowa State finally got off to a clean start in a set which played out scrappy early. The first breathing room eventually went in favor of the home team, as an Audrey Nalls roll shot down the net gave the Frogs a three-point edge at 17-14. Iowa State tied it up when Holthaus and Abby Greiman stuffed Nalls at 18-18, and finally moved in front when Hatch killed off the block at 21-20. Despite out-hitting the home team by over 130 points in the set, the Cyclones struggled in serve and pass, recording five service errors and conceding four aces in the frame. TCU got the first crack at set point at 24-23, and locked it up with a Dani Dennison ace at 25-23.
Set Four: Iowa State 28 TCU 26
Looking to mix it up, Christy Johnson-Lynch turned to Jaiden Centeno off the bench, who put together a 5-0 run on her serve to give ISU a 5-2 advantage. A huge block from Brooke Andersen and Greiman upped ISU's lead to four at 9-5, but TCU's serve again frustrated the visitors as back-to-back Dennison aces tied it at 9-9. Holthaus continued to power the Cyclone attack, but the Frogs hung tough, and moved back ahead when Nalls put away an overpass at 16-15. TCU got ahead three at 18-15, but Greiman and Piper Mauck combined to stuff Nalls and tie it again at 18-18. Holthaus got kill #19 on the night to put Iowa State back ahead 23-22, and moved to set point when Herrera stuffed Manyang. Herrera then fired just ISU's second ace of the night to make it 9-4. The set belonged entirely to the Cyclone attack, which finished the frame with 10 kills and no errors on 12 swings for an .833 hitting percentage.
