AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State tennis team returns to action this weekend, competing in two duals. On Friday, the Cyclones (6-2) will look to stay undefeated at home, hosting Drake (2-3) at Life Time Fitness in Urbandale at 1 p.m. Following up on Sunday, Iowa State will travel to Lincoln to face Nebraska (5-3) at 11 a.m.
LAST TIME OUT
Iowa State beat both of its opponents last weekend by comfortable margins. Against William & Mary, the Cyclones found themselves in an early deficit before winning the final five singles matches to earn a 5-2 win. The Cyclones then followed that up with a 5-1 victory over the visiting Georgia State Panthers Sunday morning.
CYCLONE TENNIS QUICK HIT
Singles Domination – The top 5 Cyclones have a combined 85% singles winning percentage in dual play, highlighted by the undefeated Ting-Pei Chang (6-0).
First-Year Power – Thasaporn Naklo and Christin Hsieh, the No. 45 ranked doubles pairing in the nation, are the only pair of freshman to be included in the rankings.
Defend Home Court – The Cyclones are on a seven-match home winning streak, dating back to last season. This is the second longest streak in school history, trailing Iowa State winning their first 11 home matches from 1973-76.
