Parker Earns Weekly Conference Award

IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference announced its weekly wrestling awards on Tuesday afternoon, and for the third time of his career, Ian Parker was named the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week.
Parker's 4-3 decision over No. 5 Dom Demas helped pushed Iowa State past Oklahoma, 18-16 in an exciting dual in Cedar Falls last Sunday.
In their sixth meeting, and a rematch of the 2020 Big 12 finals, Parker toed the line with Oklahoma's Demas at 141 pounds. Trailing 3-2 in the third period, Parker locked in a takedown with 0:30 on the clock and rode Demas out for the 4-3 victory.
The Cyclones will be back in action this weekend in Hilton Coliseum. Iowa State is set to take on Iowa Central (1 p.m.), Lindenwood (3 p.m.) and Oklahoma State (7 p.m.) on Saturday, Jan. 30. The dual between the Cyclones and Cowboys will be available to watch through Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
