AMES, Iowa - Iowa State volleyball closes out their 2021 home slate this week with matches on Thursday and Saturday against Kansas State. First serve between the Cyclones and Wildcats will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, and 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Tickets to both of this weekend's ISU matches (and all Iowa State home matches) are on sale now and can be bought, here. Tickets can also be purchased prior to the match, starting one hour before first serve, at the Hilton Coliseum Ticket Office at the southwest corner of Hilton Coliseum. Iowa State students can get in for free at the North Entrance of Hilton Coliseum.

As part of Veteran's Day, Iowa State volleyball will take time to recognize and appreciate the men and women who have or are currently serving in the U.S. military. Two complimentary tickets will be offered to all active and military personnel by showing ID at any entrance of Hilton Coliseum. Thank you for your service to the Untied States! Volleyball Bingo will also be returning to Hilton Coliseum, fans can pick up bingo cards at the entrances. For Iowa State students, Thursday will be the third and final "Cyclone Crazies match of the season. Completed punch cards can be redeemed while all students in attendance will receive a raffle ticket to win a YETI cooler. Free pizza will also be provided.
Saturday will be Iowa State's Senior Day, with the Cyclones honoring six members of the team following the match. Fans are encouraged to stick around to recognize these members of the Cyclone volleyball program. In the spirit of "Senior Day", Iowa State is offereing $3 reserved tickets, especially for grandparents and grandchildren to come enjoy the match. The office can only be purchased in advance, here.
At both matches, season ticket holders will be able to pick up their commemorative season tickets at the South entrance. Season ticket holder gifts will not be mailed out.
Iowa State picked up a crucial 2-0 weekend with a pair of 3-1 wins over Oklahoma in Norman. The Cyclones, once again without the services of Eleanor Holthaus and Marija Popovic, got an incredible weekend from Annie Hatch. Hatch combined across the two matches for 40 kills (including a career-high 22 in Saturday's match), 30 digs and nine blocks, earning Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week in the process. In place of Popovic, Brooke Stonestreet averaged 3.88 digs per set and picked up the Big 12 Rookie of the Week honors. Mariah Mitchell continued to be strong in place of Holthaus on the right side, notching 12 kills in each match.
The Kansas State Wildcats are 14-7 on the year and 5-5 in league play. K-State is coming off a bye weekend after going 2-0 at home two weeks ago against Texas Tech.
K-State outside Aliyah Carter is one of the busiest hitters in the Big 12, averaging 4.13 kills per set and having been in double figures 21 times in her career. The Dubuque native also has 12 double-doubles on the season, including a 20-dig match earlier in the season. Right side Holly Bonde had a career-high 21 kills in K-State's first victory over Texas Tech two weeks ago. Wildcats setter Teana Adams-Kaonohi leads the Big 12 with 10.89 assists per set. K-State are a strong blocking team, averaging 2.52 blocks per set and having 12 matches with at least 10.0 total blocks on the season.
This week will see the 97th and 98th meetings between Iowa State and Kansas State, with the Cyclones leading the all-time series 56-40. The two teams opened the 2020-21 season against each other in Manhattan, splitting the meetings with ISU winning the first in five sets before K-State bounced back to win in four the next day. Kansas State has struggled in Ames over the years, with the Cyclones having won the last 12 meetings in Ames for a streak which stretches back to 2007.
