No. 42 Cyclones Fall To No. 12 Baylor

WACO, Texas – No. 42 Iowa State (8-3, 0-1) dropped a 7-0 decision Friday to No. 12 Baylor in the Big 12 opener for both teams.
After Baylor took the doubles point with 6-4 and 6-3 wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 slots, the Bears (13-2, 1-0) finished off the sweep in singles action.
In a battle of unbeatens, Baylor's Livia Kraus defeated Cyclone freshman Miska Kadleckova in a three-set thriller, 5-7, 6-2, 1-0 (8). Kadleckova falls to 10-1 in singles action to start her Cyclone career.
Christin Hsieh also dropped a three-set match, falling to Angelina Shakhraichuk, 6-0, 1-6, 6-2.
The Cyclones return to action Sunday against No. 2 Texas at 11 a.m. in Austin, Texas.
