AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State softball team is ready for postseason play, as the Cyclones open the 2021 Phillips 66 Big 12 Softball Championship in Oklahoma City on Friday. Fifth-seeded Iowa State will play the No. 3 seed Texas at 2 p.m. before facing No. 2 seed Oklahoma State at 5 p.m. at USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex. The Cyclones will then play one game on Saturday, based on the outcomes of Friday's contests.

-Iowa State enters this weekend's Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship in Oklahoma City with a record of 31-19 on the season. ISU's .620 winning percentage is on pace to be the program's best since 1989 (.657).
-The Cyclones are No. 34 in this week's NCAA RPI rankings - the best RPI in program history.
-Iowa State enters postseason play on a roll, having won six of its last seven regular season games. The Cyclones went 6-2 in their final eight Big 12 games after starting 0-10 in league play.
-The Cyclones are coming off a three-game sweep vs. Kansas in Lawrence. It was Iowa State's first series win in Lawrence since 1989. It was also the second three-game conference road sweep in school history.
-Sami Williams and Mikayla Ramos are T-No. 8 nationally with 52 RBI each. They are also currently tied with Erica Miller (2013) for the single-season program RBI record.
-Sami Williams, a finalist for the 2021 Senior CLASS Award, holds ISU's all-time records for hits (323), doubles (77), home runs (65), RBI (178), runs scored (207), games played (250) and at-bats (824).
-Williams is the NCAA's active leader in career hits, doubles and total bases. Her 77 doubles and 613 total bases are both Big 12 records, and rank fifth in NCAA DI softball history.
-Williams is inching closer to making even more history - the native of Laguna Niguel, Calif. is now second among the Big 12's all-time hits leaders with 323 - five behind Norrelle Dickson's (Oklahoma - 2004-07) all-time conference record of 328. Williams collected four hits vs. KU, surpassing Sydney Romero (OU - 320).
-Milaysia Ochoa is T-No. 1 in the Big 12 and ranks T-No. 13 among NCAA freshmen with 18 stolen bases.
-Iowa State has piled up 295 runs this season, the 17th-most of any team in the country.
-Iowa State had three players earn All-Big 12 honors this season - the program's most all-conference selections since 2015. Sami Williams (First Team - unanimous), Mikayla Ramos (Second Team) and Milaysia Ochoa (Freshman Team - unanimous) were all honored.
-Iowa State has hit 60 home runs this season, setting a new single-season school record. The program's single-season home run record has been set in each of Jamie Pinkerton's three full seasons as Iowa State's head coach (2018 - 45, 2019 - 48, 2021 - 52). The record was 40 prior to Pinkerton's arrival in Ames.
