2020-21 SEASON REVIEW
- The Iowa State soccer team closed out its 2020-21 season on April 10 with a 1-0 victory over Kansas State. The Cyclones end the season with a 3-6-4 record, including a 1-0-4 mark during the 2021 spring campaign.
- Senior Tavin Hays scored the game-winning goal in the 13th minute to lift the Cyclones past K-State. It was the first game-winner of Hays' career.
- Iowa State's season-ending victory snapped a streak of four consecutive draws - the longest such streak in program history. ISU's exhibition match vs. Creighton on March 28 also ended in a draw.
- Iowa State ended the season on a five-match unbeaten streak - the program's longest since 2010.
- GK Jordan Silkowitz tallied her third shutout of the season vs. K-State, and second in Big 12 play.
- Silkowitz ranked No. 3 in the Big 12 in saves (62) and No. 5 in saves per game (4.43).
- Midfielder Mira Emma scored three times in Iowa State's last three matches, including a 38th minute goal off an assist from Tavin Hays to give ISU a 1-0 lead vs. KU.
- Emma and Hays finished the season tied for the team lead with two assists each. Both of Emma's assists were on game-winning goals.
- Jordan Silkowitz earned her fourth Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week honor following Iowa State's 1-0 victory vs. K-State. Silkowitz was one the only player in the Big 12 to be named the league's top goalkeeper four times this season.
- Iowa State faced four opponents this season ranked in the top 15 nationally by the United Soccer Coaches poll. It is the first time in school history that Iowa State has faced four top-15 opponents in the same season.
-Â While dealing with a shorthanded roster this spring, head coach Matt Fannon had to rely heavily on his starting 11, with impressive results. In Iowa State's 1-1 tie vs. Kansas, the Cyclone starters accounted for 1,142 of the 1,210 available minutes.
