Kajuru and Kezuka Are Central Region Doubles Champions

STILLWATER, Okla. - Sophomore Ange Oby Kauru and Senior Chie Kezuka were crowned central region doubles champions Monday at the ITA Regionals.Â
In the championship match, the Iowa State duo defeated Minnesota's Anet Koskel and Zoey Weil, 6-3, 6-2, to take home the title. Because they qualified for the doubles championship match at the ITA Regionals, they received a bid to compete in the doubles tournament at the ITA National Fall Championships in San Diego Diego, California, Nov. 3 - Nov. 6.
With the win today, the Cyclones and head coach Boomer Saia have now had back-to-back central region doubles champions. In 2021, Miska Kadleckova and Sofia Cebezas took home the title after defeating teammates Thasaporn Naklo and Chrsitin Hsieh.
Kajuru and Kezuka finished the tournament 5-0.
