8 – Iowa State will begin the 2022-23 season at No. 8 in the Associated Press TOp 25, the Cyclones' second-highest starting point in a season (No. 7, 1999-00).
13 – Iowa State has been in the top-five in attendance nationally for the last 13 recorded seasons (2020-21 attendance not recorded due to Covid-19). ISU ranked second in the country with 9,567 fans per game last season.

"Allow Me to Reintroduce Myself"
Number 24 for Iowa State is back for a fifth season. Ashley Joens' announcement last April that she would be coming back for a fifth year helped set into motion the hype train surrounding the Iowa State women's basketball preseason. Joens enters the season as Iowa State's all-time leading scorer, having amassed 2,369 career points. Her trophy shelf is very full, boasting the two-time Cheryl Miller Award winner, a Second Team All-American by the Associated Press and USBWA last year and a three-time All-Big 12 First Team selection. The preseason has seen her named to the Associated Press Preseason All-America Team (the first Cyclone ever named to the team) and as the Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year.
