Kraft Begins ISU's Week at Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa – Iowa State's competition schedule at the Drake Relays is underway, with Zach Kraft representing the Cyclones on Wednesday at Drake Stadium in the decathlon. Kraft recorded a pair of personal bests on the day, and after five events sits in 10th place with 3,036 points.

The field event were where Kraft exceled on the day and earned both of his PRs. The first game in the shot put, where Kraft launched a throw of 40-10 3/4 (13.07m), the second-best among the decathletes on the day. He followed that up at the high jump with a new personal best of 5-6 (1.68m).

Iowa State continues the Drake Relays tomorrow, with Kraft resuming his decathlon at 10 a.m. Running events will begin with the Distance Carnival, starting at 5 p.m. inside Drake Stadium.
