AMES, Iowa – Mikayla Ramos, Carli Spelhaug, Angelina Allen and Kaylee Pond have been selected for All-Big 12 honors, the league office announced Wednesday. Ramos and Spelhaug were each named to the All-Big 12 Second Team while Allen and Pond received All-Big 12 Freshman Team honors.
Iowa State's four honorees are the most the program has had since 2015. This marks Ramos' third consecutive season on an All-Big 12 team and two-straight seasons with a second-team nod. Spelhaug, Allen and Pond are each first-time recipients.
Ramos put together a remarkable season at the plate, hitting .314 with 14 home runs, 10 doubles a triple and 53 RBIs. Ramos' 53 RBIs rank 19th in the country this season are the third most in a season in program history. She became the only Cyclone to record two seasons of 50-plus RBIs in her career. The senior's 14 home runs are tied for the third most in a season in school history and rank fourth in the Big 12 this season. Ramos also registered six sacrifice flies on the year, the sixth-most nationally.
Spelhaug was dependable from the lead-off spot for the Cyclones this season, averaging .324 with 12 doubles, three triples, six home runs and 19 RBIs. The speedster stole 15 bases on 16 attempts, the 10th most in program history. Her .977 career stolen base percentage is tied for the second best among active Division I players. The Bettendorf, Iowa native scored 52 runs which were fifth in the Big 12 and tied her total form last year for the third most in a season in program history. She averages 1.06 runs per game, the 18th-best mark in the nation.
Allen was a valuable addition to the top third of the order for ISU. As a freshman, she led the Cyclones with a .333 average. Allen amassed 54 hits which ranked sixth in the Big 12 and were second among league freshmen. The Moreno Valley, Calif. native finished with nine doubles, two triples and four home runs and registered 31 RBIs. Allen was strong down the stretch, logging a hit in seven of her last eight games including four multi-hit outings.
Pond turned in a .252 average with eight doubles, two triples and two home runs to go along with 16 RBIs during her redshirt freshman campaign. The Lafayette, Calif. native drew 27 walks, the fifth most in the Big 12, including nine across the final nine games of the regular season. Pond scored 22 runs on the year, swiped five bases and started 42 games at third base.

Iowa State is back in action this week in the Big 12 Championship in Oklahoma City. The Cyclones are the No. 4 seed, their highest in program history, and open the tournament Thursday at noon against No. 5 Baylor.
