Cyclones Host Kansas to Conclude Regular Season

Ames, Iowa -Â Iowa State closes out its regular season at home this weekend as the Cyclones host Kansas for a three-game set beginning Friday at 4 p.m. ISU is jockeying for Big 12 Championship seeding, as seeds 4-7 are yet to be determined.
Saturday's contest will be Iowa State's cancer awareness game. Sunday, four Cyclone seniors will be recognized for their contribuitions to the program shortly following the game.

Key Storylines
- Big 12 Championship seeds are at stake this weekend and the Cyclones could finish as high as No. 4 or as low as No. 7. With a sweep over Kansas or two wins and two Baylor losses (vs. Texas), ISU would clinch the No. 4 seed, its best finish in program history.
- Iowa State was victorious, 9-0 in five innings Wednesday at Drake. Karlie Charles tossed a gem (5.0 IP/0 R/1 H/5 K/0 BB) while Angelina Allen logged a career-best four RBIs.
- Right-handed pitcher Ellie Spelhaug was tabbed the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week Tuesday, the second weekly honor of her career. The junior posted a 1.66 ERA across 12.2 innings and picked up two wins in her four appearances last week.
- ISU is 4-1 in its last five games, including three-straight wins. Over the stretch, Allen is hitting a team-best .375 with a pair of home runs. Skyler Ramos enters the weekend with a hit in four consecutive games and is batting .308 over the last five games.
- Last weekend, Iowa State won its first Big 12 series of the season at Baylor. After dropping a pitcher's duel in game one, 1-0, the Cyclones triumphed in games two and three by identical scores of 6-1.
- The Cyclone pitching staff showed its prowess over the weekend, allowing only two earned runs in the series at Baylor. Karlie Charles (0.00), Saya Swain (0.88) and Ellie Spelhaug (1.00) all registered a 1.00 ERA or better and pitched at least five innings during the series.
