Volleyball Picks up USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State volleyball team earned the United States Marine Corps/American Volleyball Coaches Association (USMC/AVCA) Team Academic Award, announced by the AVCA Monday.
Iowa State picked up the award for the third-straight year and the sixth time since the award's beginning in 1992-93. Every USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award earned by the Cyclones has come while Christy Johnson-Lynch has led the program.
Through the 2021-22 academic year, the Cyclones posted a cumulative GPA of 3.43. Most recently Iowa State posted a spring 2022 semester GPA of 3.39 as a team while three Cyclones earned 4.0 GPAs.
To earn the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award, teams must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or greater.
