AMES, Iowa -Â Iowa State finished the 2021 campaign with a 5-11-1 record overall, while going 2-6 in Big 12 play. The Cyclones advanced to the Big 12 Championship for the 12th time in school history, making their first appearance since 2018. In the Big 12 Championship Quarterfinals, the Cyclones held No. 8 TCU scoreless through two overtimes before falling 3-2 in penalty kicks.
KEY STORYLINES
-In the regular season finale, Iowa State defeated Kansas State 1-0 to lock up the final spot in the 2021 Big 12 Soccer Championship.
-The Cyclones appearance was the 12th in school history and the first since 2018. With the tie, Iowa State is now 0-10-3 all-time in the tournament.
