Iowa State Recognizes Loyal Donors This Weekend
09.13.2022 | Cyclone Club
AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State's Cyclone Club will hold its second annual Cyclone Club Day of Honor during Saturday's football game against Ohio. Throughout the game, Iowa State Athletics will proudly recognize Cyclone Club members for their participation, generosity and loyalty.
Cyclone Club members play a significant role in the daily success of ISU student-athletes in the classroom and on the field. The gifts made by members help improve ISU programs and directly benefit its student-athletes and staff. The members' generosity positively impacts all Cyclone programs.
In celebration of the Day of Honor, a group of randomly selected Cyclone Club members representing all 6,500 club members will participate in an on-field recognition between the first and second quarters of the game. Additionally, Cyclone Club t-shirts will be thrown into the stands throughout the game. The Iowa State football team will also participate by wearing The Heart of the Nation stickers on their helmets during the game.
"We are grateful for the generous support we receive from our loyal Cyclone Club members,"Â Iowa State Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard said. "The continued growth of the Cyclone Club has played a key role in the academic and athletic success of our student-athletes, while also allowing us to transform our athletic facilities. Cyclone Athletics has a bright future, and this weekend is an opportunity for us to salute our Cyclone Club members who are an important part of our team."
The Cyclone Club spearheads the fundraising efforts for the Iowa State Athletic department and gifts of all sizes directly impact the lives of over 450 student-athletes at Iowa State. Annual Cyclone Club gifts provide ISU student-athletes the opportunity to compete in their sport at the highest level, while preparing them to utilize their Iowa State degree once their athletic careers have concluded. Iowa State Athletics does not receive any State or University funding to operate, thereby making it one of the nation's only financially self-sufficient athletic programs.
Thank you, Cyclone Club members, you are The Heart of the Nation!
