PLAYER TO WATCH
Junior Miska Kadleckova has a career record of 99-40, putting her one win away from 100 collegiate victories. With a win this weekend, she would become the fastest athlete in program history to reach the 100-win mark and the third athlete recruited by Boomer Saia and his staff to do so.
Kadleckova is a steady competitor the Cyclones. She boasts a .746 career singles winning percentage, which is second highest among her peers. She also is 6-1 against ranked opponents this season, the best record among the team. Among the six, is a doubles upset with Sofia Cabezas against Syracuse's then No. 11 ranked Miyuka Kimoto and Polina Kozyreva, 7-6 (6), 6-1.
CYCLONE TENNIS QUICK HIT
After a loss last weekend, the Cyclones drop two spots in the ITA top-25 coaches poll rankings to the No. 24 spot. This is the 15th consecutive week that Saia's team has been ranked, a streak dating back to Feb. 23, 2022 and the longest streak in program history.
FIVE STRAIGHT
Both Kadleckova and Ange Oby Kajuru are riding a five match singles winning streak. After a loss to Oklahoma's Sofia Rojas, Kajuru has rattled off five straight including victories against No. 83 Emma Charney of Southern Cal and No. 71 Carolyn Ansari of Auburn. In Kadleckova's last five, she also has taken down Cal's No. 93 Hannah Viller Moeller.
BOOMER'S TAKE
"I think that we have to be able to recover quickly, not dwell on the past but learn from it," said Saia. "We are approaching this weekend as an opportunity to take a step forward and give ourselves a chance to win at all three doubles and all six singles."
