The Iowa State cross country teams will get the chance to compete on the highest stage at the NCAA Championships Saturday morning in Charlottesville. The Cyclones captured automatic berths to the national championships with a pair of runner-up finishes at the NCAA Midwest Regional a week ago.

Both the Cyclone men and women captured automatic bids to the NCAA Championships with runner-up finishes at the NCAA Midwest Regional meet in Stillwater last week. The Cyclone men had six members earn All-Region honors while four women earned All-Region status. Said Mechaal was the top finisher for the men (4th, 30:11.7) while Madelynn Hill led the women, also fourth in 20:35.4.
Spectator/Parking Information
The 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships are sold out with 5,000 individuals expected to attend on Saturday. There is no onsite parking at Panorama Farms for the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships. Parking is only available by shuttle, and ticket holders are advised to arrive early in anticipation of the high expected attendance. The shuttle loading location is at Fashion Square Mall (1535 E Rio Rd., Charlottesville, Va.) in front of the Red Robin restaurant. Shuttle departures will be at 6:45 a.m., 7:25 a.m., 8:05 a.m., 8:45 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. The first race at Panorama Farms begins at 10:20 a.m. Returning shuttles will begin at 12 p.m. and run until 1:30 p.m.
Cyclone Women, Men 16th and 17th Respectively in Latest USTFCCCA Coaches Poll
Following the NCAA Midwest Regional last week, both Iowa State cross country squads rank in the top-20 nationally. The Cyclone men moved up three spots to 17th in the national rankings. The Cyclone women were slated 16th nationally, improving two spots.
Keeney Claims Big 12 Weekly Honors
Sophomore Ashlyn Keeney picked up her first career Big 12 Runner of the Week award following a fourth-place finish at the Greeno-Dirksen Invitational. The North Liberty, Iowa native finished the women's 5K in 17:22.2 to lead the Cyclones to their second team win in as many meets.
Hill Earns First Big 12 Weekly Award
Following a solid performance at the season opener, Madelynn Hill was selected as the Big 12 Women's Runner of the Week. It marks the first time in her career that she's earned the honor. Hill was the top scoring individual finisher and runner-up at the Cyclone preview, finishing 19 seconds ahead of teammate Dana Feyen in third place.
