AMES, Iowa – Tamin Lipsey poured in a career-high 21 points, including 15 points in the first half, to pace Iowa State (2-0, 0-0 Big 12) in an 102-47 victory over Lindenwood (0-2, 0-0 Ohio Valley) Thursday night in Hilton Coliseum.
ISU held a 30-22 lead with just a shade under four minutes left in the first half, but a monster 43-8 run by the Cyclones in the next 13 minutes put the game out of reach.
Lipsey, who had 12 points on Monday vs. Green Bay in the season-opener, has displayed a renewed confidence offensively so far in the young season. Lipsey was 8-of-11 from the field and dished out seven dimes in the dominating Cyclone win, the largest margin of victory (+55) in the T.J. Otzelberger era and the 12th-largest in school history.
True freshman Milan Momcilovic tallied 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including a 3-of-7 effort from beyond the arc, for his second-straight double-figure scoring outing.
Lipsey and Momcilovic helped the Cyclones connect on 59.1 percent of their shots from the floor.
Defensively, the Cyclones forced 22 turnovers behind a career-high-tying five steals by Curtis Jones.
How It Happened
Iowa State used a fast start to take control early, mounting a 20-2 lead with little under 13 minutes left in the first half sparked by a Hason Ward alley-oop to open the game. Lipsey and Momcilovic each had a 3-pointer and scored seven points for the Cyclones.

The Lions turned it over on four of their first five possessions and had six miscues through the first seven minutes of action.
Lindenwood battled back, however, as the Cyclones went into a lull offensively. Keenon Cole had 10 points in a 20-10 Lion run to close the gap to 30-22 with 3:32 remaining in the opening period.
But the Cyclones went on a scoring burst to close out the half, ignited by a Keshon Gilbert trey. Lipsey then scored seven-straight points and Momcilovic hit a fadeaway jumper at the buzzer to cap a 16-1 flurry to send the Cyclones into the half with a 46-23 advantage.
Lipsey had 15 points and Momcilovic had 11 points at intermission.
The Kid from down the street has 15 points, five assists and two rebounds.

Top Performers
Tre King scored just six points and took only four shots, but his presence was felt in many other areas. King posted a game-high seven rebounds, dished out four assists and had four steals in 22 minutes of action.
