AMES, Iowa – No. 14 Iowa State faces another road challenge this weekend when it travels to Starkville, Mississippi, to face host Mississippi State and Memphis.

THE SERIES
Friday marks the inaugural meeting between the Cyclones and Bulldogs. Saturday marks the third consecutive year and fourth overall meeting between Iowa State and Memphis. The Cyclones are 3-0 to date, most recently beating the Tigers last spring, 4-2.
LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend at the ITA Kickoff, Iowa State recorded the two highest ranked wins in program history against No. 18 UCLA and No. 10 Miami. With the two wins, the team qualified for the ITA National Indoor Championships in Seattle. To read more about last weekend, click here.
PLAYER TO WATCH
Ange Oby Kajuru has had an impressive start to her sophomore year dual season. Kajuru comes into this weekend riding a seven-match singles winning streak dating back to Jan. 5 at the Weinman Foundation Invitational. Four of the seven victories have been against ranked opponents, including her last three.
The Tokyo, Japan, native currently holds a record of 26-8 this year. Playing at the No. 2 singles spot, she boasts a 12-2 record with a team high .857 winning percentage. Kajuru has been taken to a third set only three times this year and she is 3-0 in those matches.
CYCLONE TENNIS QUICK HIT
With its two historic wins last weekend, Iowa State jumped up 10 spots to No. 14 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's weekly top-25 coaches poll. This is highest ranking in program history, breaking the No. 20 spot it earned on March 16, 2022.
