MORGANTOWN, West Virginia – Maddie Diab is now a two-time Big 12 Champion, highlighting the Cyclones evening at the Big 12 Gymnastics Championship at the WVU Coliseum. For a second-straight season, Diab recorded a 9.950 on floor to claim a share of the Big 12 title in the event. Diab was one of four gymnasts to finish tied atop the Big 12 floor podium.
As a team, Iowa State finished in fourth place with a team score of 193.750.
Iowa State takes fourth at the Big 12 Gymnastics Championship. Maddie Diab scored a 9.950 on floor, tying her season high and scoring her ninth score of 9.900 or higher on the season. Josie Bergstrom led the Cyclones on both beam and vault. Hannah Loyim tied her career-high on floor with a 9.900.
Beam – 47.525
Josie Bergstrom led the way for the Cyclones on beam, posting a 9.825. Kelsey Boychuk scored a 9.775. Oklahoma Sooner Ragan Smith scored a perfect 10.000 on beam.
Floor – 49.175
Iowa State was led by Diab on floor, who posted a 9.950 to claim a share of the Big 12 title in the event for a second-consecutive season. Hannah Loyim scored a 9.900, tying her career-high. Alondra Maldonado logged a 9.850, and Ana Irene Palacios scored a 9.800.
Vault – 48.475
Bergstrom led the way for Iowa State on vault, scoring a 9.850. Kelsey Boychuk also posted a 9.825. Oklahoma gymnasts Olivia Trautman and Danielle Sievers, as well as Denver Pioneer Rylie Mundell all led the meet with scores of 9.950 on vault.
Bars – 48.375
The Cyclone were led by Laura Cooke on bars, who scored a 9.775. Loganne Basuel and Madelyn Langkamp each posted scores of a 9.750. Sooners Audrey Davis and Olivia Trautman both held meet-high scores of 9.950 on bars.
