Iowa State Places Sixth At The NCAA Westfield Regional

WESTFIELD, Ind. – The Iowa State women's golf team placed sixth at the NCAA Westfield Regional, held at The Club at Chatham Hills. The Cyclones were four-under par for the week and finished five shots out of the top five qualifying spots.
The team carded the lowest NCAA Regional 54-hole team score in school history with an 860 (286-288-286) total. In rounds one and three of the tournament the Cyclones tied the second-lowest 18-hole score in program history with two-under rounds of 286.
Taglao Jeeravivitaporn led the way for the Cyclones after carding rounds of 70, 72 and 70 to finish with a 212 three-round total. The senior placed in a tie for 13th and knocked in 11 birdies and an eagle during her final round. Her 212 was the second-lowest NCAA Regional score in school history.
Liyana Durisic wrapped up the week with an even round of 72 that included an eagle on the 13th hole. The senior finished with a 214 total with back-to-back rounds of 71 to open the tournament. Durisic placed in a tie for 21st in the individual standings. Â
Pammy Chookaew was third on the team in scoring this week. The freshman recorded a 216 total with her best round coming on day one where she fired a two-under 70. Chookaew finished the week in 25th place.
Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn finished her week with an even score of 72 that included five birdies in the final round. The freshman posted a 218 three-round tally and placed in a tie for 29th in the individual standings.
Ruby Chou rounded out the team's top five with a 229 54-hole total. Chou's best score came in the opening round of the tournament where she posted a three-over round of 75. The senior concluded her week in a tie for 59th place.
This was Iowa State's school-record 13th straight NCAA Regional appearance.
